I'd definitely support some changes to the electorial system but I beleive the basic system should be kept intact. For example, I see no reason for the current system of having actual electorites going in on December 18th to cast their vote. I do like the idea of each state allocating it's electorial votes based on the popular vote within the state but I don't see any reason for keeping the "middle man".
How do you get 100,000,000+ people to do something, then count up what they did, all error free? It's not possible! If you're going to do a manual recount in a couple of prodominetly Gore counties then I think we need to do manual recounts in EVERY Florida county including those that voted heavily for Bush. All or nothing. Fair is fair. At least that way the errors should balance out.
On a related issue, I'm about to file suit against the state's lottery commision. Seems I bought a lottery ticket two weeks ago but, due to the confusing form, made some errors and filled in the wrong blocks. I now realize that I had intended to enter the numbers that actually won the $186 Million jackpot so I'm sueing for the oppertunity to go back and correct my error. I'll take the lump-sum payment option, please.
