For what it is worth (148 views)
Message: Yes, there were numerous things that I was deceived about, and it is a lesson learned for me. I purchased the car only from a Mazda Dealership in Chicago. Having owned a 528i before, I asked about the suspension, the tires, the wheel condition, the paint condition, dead pixels and the number of keys. I was told that car was in like new condition and that all the keys were present. After arriving from Detroit, I noticed that they were hesitant to show me the car. When they finally did, they presented me the car with a big scratch. Similar to being keyed but only a clear coat scratch. I was livid, and they immediately took $1000 more off the price of the car. After taking the car for a test drive I noticed that the lower control arms felt like they needed to be replaced. Not a deal breaker to me since I know this is a wear item on the 5ers. So I told them about it and they took another $500 off. when it was time to make the purchase I asked about the keys. I was told that they only had one! I told that that was not acceptable and that a key is about $200! They manager said there is no way a key is that much and agreed to take off another $100 for an additional key to be ordered. I accepted that offer. All in all, I think they did a decent job AFTER the fact, but had they told me the truth it would have saved me time and them the hassle of trying to scam me.

With that said, I have a GREAT mechanic who has saved me money countless times and I have already spoken to him to get the suspension sorted out. I will be taking it in next Wednesday. I just feel that people should be able to at least keep 3 of the 4 keys. Why would someone spend $50-60k for something and then over 3-4 yrs not make an effort to keep that purchase in as good of condition as possible. It might be that my father worked for one of the big three for 25 yrs and taught me to take care of my cars with preventative maintenance and keep them in like new condition as much as possible. But I know as much as I love my car, I will eventually want to sell it and I want to get as much money as possible. I am the type of person who hates to have my car not in perfect condition. I know most people are not like me though so I can understand that.
