Re: Cam or crank sensor?? - The BMW 5 Series (E39) Message Forum

I read last night that the crank sensor was bad the car won't start; and it starts fine. Given there are specific codes for each CAM sensor maybe it is not them that is the problem; but I am still guessing. Fuel filter was replaced about 2 years ago so I am not thinking that; also because it was missing at LOW rpm and not at high RPM. Because I have a Dinan CAI, MAF and throttle body I took that whole system apart to see if there were any air leaks or any loose connections; that turned up nothing.

Last week I did replace the lower radiator hose and just after that is when I started to notice this; they may or my not be related. But being an ex-mechanic I am considering they are. Things I am still considering (at 67k miles, mostly in town driving and 8 years old) catalics; but error codes on them? How can I verify them?
