| Message: | | On the one hand, I was actually right about a a couple of things this time (OU's defense and Bradford's ability to scramble). But wow, was I ever wrong about how close it would be. I thought about you a few times, wondering how miserable you must have been having to sit thru that. Fwiw, I really did feel for you. That's gotta be painful, at least to the point you just finally go numb.
IMHO, the team's aren't anywhere near as far apart as the score would indicate. I used to not put as much importance on home field advantage as I sometimes do these days, and I honestly think last night's game was a perfect example of why. Their home field record is almost legendary the last several years, and Tech found out why. And of course, I think I'd also speculated that Tech might eventually have an off night, and that kinda looks like what might have been a big part of the problem last night. But just like when I wondered aloud how the Tech/UT game would have turned out if it had been played in Austin, I also wonder how last night's affair would have turned out if it had been played in Lubbock. Yea, I think home field has a lot more advantage in some games than I used to think, particularly when you have two great teams playing before one or the other's very vocal crowd.
I know it hurts a bit, I'm still reeling a little with the same feelings about our loss to you. But the fact is Texas, Tech and Oklahoma are three of the very best teams in the country, and nobody has anything to be ashamed of. Disappointed yea, but not ashamed. I'd put any of them up against anybody else in the country and probably be willing to put money on the game too.
Sorry it had to end this way.
