| Message: | A cut in labor force is a cut in labor force. It doesn't matter one iota in what capacity they were hired. False. "At this point, I think we need to remind ourselves that one of the reasons why gas/fuel is more expensive in dollar terms is because the dollar is weaker against other major currencies, particulary the euro & pound." Finance isn't my area of expertise, but since I spend a lot of time and a lot of my money in investing et al, I do pay special attention to what the finance experts say and it happens to be that a lot of them blame the weak dollar to the fact that we're paying high fuel costs, not vice versa. Which is exactly what I said. Crude oil is a commodity, priced in USD. When the value of the USD weakens in forex markets against other currencies, e.g., EUR, producers of crude will be motivated to raise their $ price per barrel to offset. Consequently, consumers in the US will see pump prices as more expensive in dollar terms. This could happen eventhough the cost of a barrel of crude, in euro terms, stays the same. I'd describe this as more Econ than Fin. Are you saying the R32 wasn't available here until 2008? Funny, I thought it had been around a few years. The current R32. If I'm not mistaken, there have been a couple/few iterations of the R32 model for VW just as, for BMW, there have been several ///M3's (E30, E36, E46 & E90, E92-93). Same moniker, different cars. Right? From VW of America's monthly sales reports, the current R32 became available in July '07. . . . . . . . . ~bmv ![]() | ||||
