Fuel gauge problems. (archive)

It looks like my fuel gauge refuses to register the fact that I just put $40 worth of gas. However, after 5 or 10 restarts, it seems to acknowledge it (same for OBC). It is very irritating since I can't trust it anymore.

The dealer says to make sure the igninion is off and the key is out. And it is. Go figure.

I hope the sensor in the X5 doesn't use a floater. I can't believe BMW has problems designing a fuel sensor that works.
