why all the hassle? if it is hardwired (like mine is) the V1 is hard to detect (except when somebody is behind me at night since I don't have the remote display).

I have never heard this question come up form any other BMW owner in the 3 years I have been on the email list. Why is it such a big deal with Z3 owners?

I guess if somebody can make a buck with it, more power to you.
